Resting in Yaremche

Healing Hearts, Building Futures: Our Commitment to Ukrainian Children

Why it's so important for children?

A retreat for children whose parents died in the war in Ukraine, held in the mountains of Yaremche, provided them with an opportunity to recover emotionally and feel supported. The mountain air, nature, and breathtaking landscapes helped relieve stress and distract from the tragic events. Additionally, such trips allow children to gain new experiences, make new friends, and rediscover the joy of an active life. The time spent in Yaremche has been a crucial part of their psychological rehabilitation.

During their stay in Yaremche, the children participated in various activities such as hiking in the mountains, rafting on the river, and visiting picturesque waterfalls. They also took part in workshops on traditional crafts, learning how to make pottery and weave bracelets. These activities helped them feel part of a friendly community, and many found new friends with whom they shared their stories and supported each other.

Their emotional state improved significantly – smiles returned to their faces, and they became more open and trusting. The nature of the Carpathians, fresh air, and peaceful atmosphere helped them recover from the stress they had endured. In the evenings, around the campfire, the children shared their experiences, sang songs, and discussed their future plans, which gave them strength and confidence.
